Robert O. Briggs Memorial Festival

Gave musicians an opportunity to honor Bob Briggs and his favorite concert band music, Solano Winds. On February 15, 2009, 113 musicians with 10 conductors gathered at the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts to rehearse a program of Bob’s favorites in the afternoon and performed them in the evening.  All proceeds from the performance benefited the Robert O. Briggs Scholarship Endowment.

We attracted current and past musicians from the Cal Band, Cal Band Alumni, Solano Winds, Armijo High School, and many other groups touched by Bob’s life.  

We premiered “Fantasia on Hail to California ” a commissioned  piece from local composer Randy Biagi, a longtime associate of Bob’s .  It was a wonderful piece that will be included in many future performances.

The performance was recorded the CD is for sale on our CDs page.  We have also include photos taken at the concert on the CDs.  All proceeds of these sales will benifit the Robert O. Briggs Scholarship Endowment.
